FRAGRANCE OILS

All fragrance oils used in Silky Body & Bath's Products are Phthalate-Free comply with the strictest global RIFM and IFRA standards. In addition, the fragrance oils undergo a triple-check quality assurance program. 

What are Phthalates? Phthalates are a group of chemicals used in products like toys, detergents, nail polish, and hair spray. They’re added to fragrance oils to allow them to last longer and a few other reasons. The fragrances we used are formulated without Phthalates. There are concerns across the cosmetic community of Phthalate's having negative health benefits. 

FIZZY REACTION | The fun, fizzy reaction come from Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) and Citric Acid! The chemical reaction between the Baking Soda, Citric Acid and water forms carbon dioxide, which is the "fizz" and also why Bath Bombs feel cold when you hold them (fun fact)! Baking Soda increases the alkaline level in the water, which makes your skin feel silky smooth. Citric Acid is said to be a rich source of antioxidants.

EPSOM SALT | (Magnesium Sulfate) is said to be a magnesium-rich salt, which is said to help your muscles & mind relax. When magnesium is absorbed through the skin, it is said to release serotonin.

PINK HIMALAYAN SALT | Pink Himalayan Salt (Sodium Chloride) is said to contain 84 different minerals. 

BAKING SODA | Baking soda has cleansing and detoxifying properties that may help to purify your body and boost immunity.

OILS & BUTTERS | Grapessed Oil (Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil, Vitamin E and Jojoba Oil

Grapeseed Oil - Grapeseed Oil is full of vitamin E, which is excellent for locking moisture into the skin. This vitamin plays an essential role in softening and hydrating the skin's outer layer. Also, its fatty acid components fortify the skin barrier while smoothing and balancing the skin.

Jojoba Oil - Jojoba Oil is said to regulate sebum (oil your skin produces) production because it's so similar to the sebum that your body produces naturally. It is also said to have anti-inflammatory properties which help to tame chaffing and chapping, reduce redness caused by drying, ease the effects of eczema and rosacea, and keep skin calm and comfortable

Vitamin E - Vitamin E is a fat-soluble nutrient with antioxidant properties, and also helps blood circulation.

FOR YOUR TUB | Polysorbate 80 is natural vegetable sourced emulsifier which binds the water & oil together, preventing the oil ring around your tub. Less than 1% is used in our products. Also, it's not just used in Bath Products, Polysorbate 80 is used in a lot of perishable food items like relish.

EXFOLIANTS | Only natural exfoliants are used in SB&B body scrubs. Sugar Cane is a great exfoliant because of its naturally abrasive properties but still gentile enough to use on your skin. It contains glycolic acid, which helps break down dead, flaky & dry skin. Coffee grounds are a gentle exfoliant and a contain caffeine and chlorogenic acid which is said to help reduce inflammation and also said to contain antimicrobial properties.

BUTTERS & OILS | Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Grapeseed Oil, Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E are used in the body scrubs to hydrate your skin after it has been exfoliated.

Shea Butter - It works as an emollient that softens and hydrates skin. It contains several types of fatty acids — like lineoleic, oleic, palmitic and stearic acids — that improve the skin's natural barrier.

Cocoa Butter - Cocoa Butter also contains a high amount of fatty acids, which is hwy its common in skin products. Fatty acids help to hydrate the skin & create a protective barrier that holds in moisture and prevents your skin from drying out.

COLORANTS | Only natural colorants are used in the scrubs. The coffee scrubs are brown due to the natural color of the coffee grinds. Any sugar scrub that looks red contains Beet Root Powder that is said to fade dark spots and is also said to be a good source of Vitamin C. Turmeric Powder will turn the scrub a yellow color along with having moisturizing benefits.

EMULSIFIER | An emulsifier is used to better blend butters, oils and other products in the body scrub. It helps the scrub not separate and also better blend with water during exfoliation. When combined with water, it will turn into a nice lather - almost a lotion consistency. 

PRESERVATIVE | Germall Plus Liquid (Preservative) is an excellent broad spectrum antimicrobial preservative used in body scrubs. Since water can come in contact with the sugar or coffee, microorganisms can grow which is why a preservative is used. Paraben-Free (harmful chemicals aren't a part of the product formula).

EXTRAS | Arrowroot Powder - used to help oils & butter absorb into your skin. Some scrubs also include a small amount of Cinnamon Powder - said to be rich in antioxidants and said to help with hyperpigmentation. Additional powders for natural coloring: Beet Root Powder or Turmeric.

COCOA BUTTER | The main ingredient in our lip balms is Cocoa Butter, said to provide a wonderful protective layer that can help moisturize your lips even in the harshest climates - and it smells like chocolate!

SHEA BUTTER | Because SHEA is an emollient, it is said to help hydrates your lips short term and helps soften them over time

BEESWAX | Filtered, unrefined Beeswax is said to help protect lips and retains lip moisture, leaving your lips moisturized. It also helps harden the lip balm. 

OLIVE OIL | Helps hydrate cracked and chapped lips. Also said to have natural SPF protection.

BROWN SUGAR | Brown Sugar is used as a mild exfoliant in our lip scrubs, helps encourage blood circulation, helps promote cellular turnover - revealing fresh new skin cells. Sugar is also a natural source of glycolic acid, meaning that it penetrates skin and breaks down skin cells. Because of this, exfoliating the top layer of skin with sugar scrubs results in fresh.

FLAVORS | Our sweetened flavor oils are specifically made for lip balms - they are cruelty, phthalate- free & gluten-free. This product is in compliance with the standards of the International Fragrance Association, provided the fragrance is used in the above application (s) at the noted maximum concentration level(s).
